Stepping Up
Lower Secondary marks an important transition from guided learning to growing independence.
At this stage, students engage more deeply with subject content, develop analytical thinking, and begin to take greater ownership of their learning. The Cambridge Lower Secondary framework allows us to strengthen subject knowledge while explicitly teaching skills such as reasoning, evaluation, research, and clear communication.
Teachers gradually reduce scaffolding, encouraging students to plan, reflect, and improve their work independently. Expectations are clear, and support is consistent, helping students build resilience, discipline, and confidence in their abilities.
Our aim during Lower Secondary is to prepare students not just academically, but mentally and emotionally, for the rigour of upper secondary study.
